Nickel Plating is used for decoration. It is not only used on industrial parts but also on the household items like grills, door hinges, or faucets and hence required a regular maintenance. So Shivam Enterprise: "Electroplating in India" is here with some great tips.
Polish the plated product with soft cloth: You can use soft cotton cloth to remove grease spots, smudges, and patches. Rather than rubbing in a back and forth motion, use small circular motions to “buff” the grime away.
Use specialized metal cleaner: To remove tarnish apply little metal cleaner liquid directly to the stained area. Leave it for few minutes and scrub it using a patch of fine steel wool, in small circular motion. Don’t clean the entire surface in this manner otherwise it will leave scratches over there.
Use of Vinegar: Acidic property of vinegar can remove grime, tarnish and other stains. Soak a clean little cotton in the vinegar and scrub the dirtied area. Once finished wipe off the extra vinegar from the area.
Use an oven cleaner: Theses cleaners are the best abrasive and they least damage the Nickel Plating. Simply pour a little of the cleaner on the platting area and scrub the entire surface with the help of soft cloth.
Use Ammonia: Always use pure household Ammonia. Ammonia is very effective so to remove stains pour the ammonia in a bowl and soak scrubber pad into it. Forcibly rub the dirtied area and rinse with water.
